Libraries are Meant to be Free!

The end of the year is a time to reflect on the past year and also anticipate the future.  Here is a thoughtful, thought-provoking, visually interesting, well researched, properly linked/accredited article by Mita Williams (that I wish I wrote) about a possible future for academic libraries.

Barbara Fister has an eloquent follow up in her blog that not only comments on the Williams post, but also discusses some of her ideas.

About Ellie Kohler

I'm the Access and Learning Services Librarian at Rockhurst University, and was a founding member of the ILL Special Interest Group. My specialties include interlibrary loan, instruction, reference, circulation, reserves, and wrangling 40 (or so) student assistants. I continue to defy the librarian stereotype by keeping a cat-free household.
